Peacemaker Training Level 1
Allowed Evidence & What Carries Weight
Last updated December 2, 2025
Peacemakers decide cases based on clear, objective evidence.
Not emotion.
Not storytelling.
Not “he said, she said.”
Below is exactly what you should look for — and what matters the most.
✅ What Evidence Is Allowed
Buyers and sellers can submit:
-
Photos
-
Videos
-
Screenshots
-
Written statements
-
Tracking numbers
-
Receipts or invoices
-
Platform message history
Everything must relate directly to the item, the listing, or the transaction.
⭐ What Carries the MOST Weight (in order)
1. Photos of the actual item
This is the highest-value evidence.
Examples:
-
close-ups of damage
-
photos of packaging
-
serial numbers
-
condition details
-
missing accessories
Photos override text descriptions unless manipulated (rare).
2. Video recordings
Examples:
-
unboxing
-
powering on a device
-
demonstrating a defect
Videos help when something is functional or moving.
3. Tracking / Carrier Evidence
Carrier data is extremely strong evidence.
Examples:
-
“Label created but never shipped”
-
“Delivery confirmed to wrong address”
-
“Package returned to sender”
Shipping evidence can automatically resolve some cases.
4. Listing Page Information
The listing must match what was delivered.
Common issues:
-
wrong item
-
wrong model/version
-
missing items that were promised
-
condition misrepresented
If the listing claims “NEW” and the buyer gets a used item → Buyer wins.
5. Platform Message History
If either party said something important during the transaction, it matters.
Examples:
-
Seller promising something not in the listing
-
Buyer admitting they ordered the wrong item
-
Agreements made before the sale
Messages help fill in context.
6. Receipts & Order Details
Useful for:
-
proving original item value
-
verifying replacement cost
-
verifying authenticity
Not required — just helpful.
❌ Evidence That Does NOT Carry Much Weight
These things do not influence the vote:
-
Feelings (“I feel scammed”)
-
Long emotional stories
-
Personal attacks
-
Outside research
-
Social media profiles
-
Past disputes
-
Opinions about the buyer or seller
Stick to facts, not feelings.
🚫 Evidence You Should Ignore Completely
Do NOT consider:
-
Private messages off-platform
-
External photos that are not from this transaction
-
Hearsay
-
Speculation
-
Anything unverified or unverifiable
If it cannot be tied to the transaction, it doesn’t count.
🧭 Your Job as a Peacemaker
Ask one question:
“Does the objective evidence match or contradict the listing?”
That’s it.
🏁 When Evidence Is Equal or Unclear
If neither side proves their case clearly:
-
Condition or misrepresentation defaults in favor of the Buyer
-
Non-delivery or missing shipment defaults in favor of the Buyer
-
Authenticity concerns default in favor of the Buyer
But if the Buyer provides no evidence at all, the Seller may win by default.
⭐ Bottom Line
Strong evidence decides the case —
not emotion, not opinion, not assumptions.
Look for:
Photos → Videos → Tracking → Listing Accuracy → Message History
In that order.
