Peacemaker Program Overview
How the Peacemaker System Works
Last updated January 7, 2026
Overview
The Fisheez Peacemaker System is a community-based dispute resolution process designed to resolve marketplace disagreements fairly, transparently, and without relying on centralized customer service teams.
Instead of decisions being made by a single company employee, disputes are reviewed by qualified Peacemakers — independent community members who have completed training and agreed to strict ethical standards.
The goal is simple:
fair outcomes, faster resolution, and accountability on all sides.
What Is a Peacemaker?
A Peacemaker is a qualified participant who reviews disputes between buyers and sellers and helps determine how funds held in escrow should be resolved.
Peacemakers are:
-
Independent community members
-
Required to complete training and pass tests
-
Bound by ethical and conflict-of-interest rules
-
Limited in how often and how many cases they can review
Peacemakers are not employees, agents, or representatives of Fisheez.
When the Peacemaker System Is Used
The Peacemaker system is used when:
-
A transaction enters dispute under Fisheez’s escrow system (SmartShell)
-
The buyer and seller cannot resolve the issue directly
-
The dispute meets eligibility requirements outlined in the Terms of Service
Not all issues become Peacemaker disputes. Some matters may be resolved automatically or through other platform mechanisms.
High-Level Dispute Flow
At a high level, the process works like this:
-
A dispute is opened
Funds are already held in escrow. -
Both parties submit information
Evidence, messages, and documentation are provided according to platform rules. -
Qualified Peacemakers review the case
A limited number of Peacemakers are assigned or allowed to participate. -
Votes or decisions are recorded
Peacemakers independently evaluate the information and submit their vote or decision according to the rules defined in the Terms of Service. -
The system determines the outcome
Based on predefined rules, voting thresholds, and safeguards. -
Funds are released accordingly
Escrowed funds are distributed based on the final outcome.
Detailed timelines, evidence standards, and voting rules are covered in training materials.
Peacemaker Levels
The system includes multiple Peacemaker Levels, which determine what types of disputes a Peacemaker may review.
Examples include:
-
Product disputes
-
Service disputes
-
Higher-value or more complex cases
Each level requires additional training and qualification.
Ethics, Independence, and Fairness
To protect trust and integrity:
-
Peacemakers must avoid conflicts of interest
-
Peacemakers may not participate in disputes involving people or businesses they are connected to
-
Votes must be based solely on the evidence presented
-
Abuse of the system can result in suspension or removal
Ethical obligations are mandatory and enforceable.
Rewards & Incentives (High-Level)
Peacemakers may be eligible for rewards or incentives for participating in dispute resolution.
Important notes:
-
Rewards are not guaranteed
-
Rewards are not wages or payment for services
-
Rewards may be funded by:
-
the Fisheez Foundation, or
-
sponsor-supported Peacemaker programs
-
-
Reward availability, timing, and amounts may change
Participation in disputes does not guarantee compensation.
