Advertising & Sponsored Promotions Policy.

This policy is incorporated by reference into the Fisheez Terms of Service and SmartShell Escrow Agreement.
Policy Overview
Fisheez allows sellers, promoters, and verified partners to purchase or earn sponsored placement for listings, services, or live events.
All advertising must be truthful, transparent, and compliant with U.S. law and Fisheez community standards.
This policy governs category bidding, banner or featured listings, influencer campaigns, and internal promotions across the platform. Certain promotional features, including “Hot Deals,” are governed by feature-specific rules published separately and incorporated by reference.
Allowed Advertising Activities
- Sponsored or boosted listings purchased through Fisheez’s internal ad-bidding system.
- Category, keyword, or audience-targeted placements within the marketplace.
- Cross-promotion between verified Shorefront sellers and approved promoters.
- In-stream shout-outs or product placements clearly marked as “Sponsored.”
- Charity or community-impact promotions approved by Fisheez or the Fishlanthropy Foundation.
Prohibited Advertising Practices
- False or misleading claims, exaggerated results, or fake testimonials.
- Unverified health, financial, or investment promises.
- Hidden sponsorships or influencer deals lacking clear disclosure.
- Comparative or disparaging ads that defame competitors.
- Any off-platform solicitation that bypasses escrow or violates fee policy.
- Use of bots, fake engagement, or deceptive traffic-generation tactics.
- Political or issue-based ads unless pre-approved for compliance.
Seller & Promoter Requirements
- All ads must comply with the FTC Advertising Guides and applicable state truth-in-advertising laws.
- Sponsored content must display a visible “Sponsored” or “Ad” label.
- Sellers remain fully responsible for ad accuracy and substantiation.
- Promoters may participate only through the official Fisheez Promoter Program or authorized affiliate link system.
- Payment for ad placements occurs through the SmartShell Escrow or another verified on-chain method.
- Ads promoting restricted or prohibited goods/services will be removed.
Platform-Run Promotions
Fisheez may highlight user listings or creators in curated feeds, community campaigns, or charitable spotlights.
Inclusion does not imply endorsement or warranty; selections are algorithmic, editorial, or community-voted.
Data and Targeting Transparency
Fisheez uses on-platform activity signals (e.g., categories viewed, searches, purchases) to determine ad relevance.
No off-site tracking, cross-app surveillance, or sale of user data occurs.
Advertisers cannot directly access personal user profiles or contact information.
All targeting is anonymized and confined within the Fisheez ecosystem.
Disclosures for Influencers and Partners
Anyone compensated in any form (money, NFTs, Pearl Points, or in-kind items) for promoting Fisheez content must:
- clearly disclose the sponsorship (“Paid Partnership with Fisheez”);
- follow FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255); and
- avoid unverified performance or income claims.
Compliance & Enforcement
Fisheez acts as a neutral marketplace and escrow facilitator.
It does not pre-screen every advertisement but may, at its discretion:

restrict, remove, or suspend ads or accounts violating these rules;

request proof of claim substantiation or sponsorship agreements; and

refer fraudulent campaigns to regulatory authorities.
Credible reports may be escalated through the Peacemaker System (§ 7) for community review.

Purpose of Policy
To ensure all paid placements and sponsored promotions on Fisheez remain honest, transparent, and fair, protecting users from deception while enabling sellers to promote legitimately within the ecosystem.
